About Us

Our Story

The Worland Aquatic Center began operating in 2012. Open year-round providing a spa, diving board, competition pool, therapy pool, and leisure pool with a slide; We offer a variety of options for recreational swimming such as paddle boards, basketball hoops, and a volleyball section. During the summer months we have an outdoor splash pad with picnic tables and a seating area to enjoy. Since the inaugural opening in 2012 to June 2023, the Worland Aquatic Center was governed by a Joint Powers Board that was comprised of three entities to include representation from the City, County, and Washakie County School District #1. As of July 2023, the Joint Powers Board has been dissolved, and Washakie County School District #1 took over full operation of the Worland Aquatic Center. WAC provides services for the school district including swim instruction, sport recovery, competitive swim programs, along with serving the greater Big Horn Basin with options for leisure, instruction, and recreational swimming.
